Important Information for GSMS 2010-- Read Carefully

The Handbook for Students and Parents/Student Information and the forms that are to be completed and returned  can be accessed through the links in the column to the right.

After reading the handbook thoroughly, complete the forms and mail them to the address on the form. Do not sign a form saying you agree to follow rules you have not even read about, and do not mail completed forms to the Department of Education and the Arts.

For students attending the GSMS sessions at West Virginia University:

When you arrive on the campus of West Virginia University for the opening of the Governor's School for Math and Science, you will be greeted by mentors who will help carry bags into your assigned rooms. Depending upon your arrival time, there may be time for you to get  your rooms organized and familiarize yourselves with the campus. It will also give parents the opportunity to store some visual memories about where their children will be spending the next couple of weeks.

Upon registration, students will be given a schedule for the rest of the day, so for now it's enough to know that the opening ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. in

Brooke Hall, Room 202. You should plan to arrive on campus between 12:30 and 2:45 p.m.

For students attending the GSMS session at Green Bank

Registration is in the bunkhouse where you will be living for the next 14 days.  Your bunk is already assigned, and you will have time to get you belongings organized and familiarize yourself with the beautiful campus.  You may want to tour the visitor center with your family. There are also planned activities for you after you register. You should plan to arrive between noon and 3 p.m. on August 1; the opening ceremony begins at 3:30 in the NRAO Science Center Auditorium.
